Glencoe, Scotland yet AGAIN! I made about a million pictures there, because the light changes with every cloud and every second. These clouds unfortunately came in when we had just mastered the main ascent to "Lost Valley", and while they were very dramatic and gorgeous to look at, they really hung in the mountains and forced us to go back without reaching our destination for the day.

Glencoe is already pretty eery, I bet those clouds made it more so! Such a sad story. But I'm still amazed the Scots lived out there and prospered for thousands of years. It looks so inhospitable sometimes!

Oh yeah, everything around Glencoe fits right into that sad story. It is a place that evokes strong emotions, and which is utterly beautiful. I bet it can be horrible to live there in late fall and winter, but we had a very nice mix of cloud and sunshine in summer, and it was just magical.

Yeah I bet. How long were you in Scotland for? I went for a week in May last year, and the only time the weather was bad was back in Edinburgh. Even the Isle of Skye had fantastic weather, which is very rare apparently!

I was in Scotland for 10 days, and we had rain on every day, although the second half of the trip also had some sunshine. But the first week really was an endurance test; we partied every second that it didn't pour! :-o

I heard that the weather was fantastic that May for weeks! Unfortunately, that ended about 10 days before I went there. *Hmpf*

Oh no really? I feel kind of bad now! You probably experienced more of the 'real' Scotland than I did though

Just gorgeous, another once in a lifetime photo (at least for most of us). I would like to see a version with the mountains and foliage lightened up a little in photoshop; the texture of the rock face and the foliage are so nice I would like to see them a little better. The photo reminds me a little of some pictures I have seen of China. I am really enjpying your Scotland series.

The best moment was when suddenly, we were enveloped in clouds and couldn't see a thing, and then suddenly, the clouds opened on the opposite mountain ridge and let us see the peaks - and everything between them and us was white and misty. Wow! I felt like an eagle and wanted to spread my wings (what sudden end that would have been! ;-))...
