A gull's skull which we found on one of our walks on the Isle of Skye. I'm usually not into cadaver-photography ;-), but this reminded me vaguely of a Venezian carnival mask. Then again, I may be strange.

I can see the Venezian carnival mask in it. So maybe I'm strange too?

Beautiful shot. I love the er... narrow depth of field, I think it's called? The very tight range of focus.

Dieses Bild habe ich mir schon mehrfach angeschaut, einfach um zu überprüfen, ob die Faszination, die ich beim ersten Betrachten empfunden habe, anhält. Und sie tut es!

Ich habe ein Faible für Schädel und für Dinge, die auf ihr Wesenliches reduziert sind, auch wenn ich, ganz unesoterisch, dem Bildtitel nicht zustimmen würde. ;-)

Ich habe auch eine leicht morbide Ader (auch wenn ich beim Fotografieren immer mal wieder mit meinem inneren, moralischen Schweinehund kämpfe), daher stach mir das Motiv sofort in die Augen. Ist halt mal was anderes. Einen Schafschädel habe ich auch noch vom letzten Schottland-Urlaub (bildtechnisch, nicht mitgenommen ;-)).

ui, sehr stimmungsvolle bearbeitung/farbgebung (bzw. entsättigung). der schädel leuchtet richtig. schärfe liegt perfekt und den bildaufbau mit der diagonale vom schnabel und den horizontlinien im hintergrund find ich auch klasse.
du hast ja offenbar auch noch einige schätze bei dir herumliegen ;)
